"I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images." Isaiah 42:8
If you are going to celebrate earth day, give your praises to it's Creator, not to the created. He is worthy of our praises; He is the all powerful , all knowing, all consuming God. You dare not ignore Him. Every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Will you do that now, before you die and enjoy the blessings of eternal life, or do it after you die and then be thrown into the Lake of Fire where the fire is not quenched and the worm never dies, experiencing eternal darkness, eternally suffering God's holy, righteous wrath? Forever is a long time.
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
A Psalm of David.
The earth is the LORD'S, and all it contains,
The world, and those who dwell in it.
For He has founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers.
Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD?
And who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood
And has not sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive a blessing from the LORD
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face—even Jacob. Selah.
Lift up your heads, O gates,
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.
