November of Thanksgiving: 12

Twelve: I am thankful for God's holy word. This isn't the first time I have made that statement, and it won't be the last. I am thankful for its God-revealing, ego-humbling, sin-revealing, soul-convicting, heart-changing, life-giving, growth-causing, promise-keeping power, backed by the authority of the all-knowing, all-mighty, all-encompassing, glorious Creator of all things, my Lord.
Therefore, since we have a great hight priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:14-16).

Those words are rich. God is holy and yet intimate. Perfection  came to earth as a baby and lived the life of a man. He did so that He could understand what we face in this fallen world. How can such truth not render us thankful?

I am participating in Rebecca of Rebecca Writes' November of Thankfulness with a number of bloggers. Join us, won't you?
